I need to pull the Youtube channel report data, but I have some questions regarding authentication. The docs tell me to go here for help. I'm new to this data.
Are the steps basically
- Generate the OAuth2.0 creds in the Google API console
- Create an app in the Google API console
- Now I have access to the API (ie create job reports, pull down job reports)
Then the owner of the Google account tied to the Youtube channel isn’t me, but he granted me I think manager permissions to the brand account. Are the OAuth creds I generate still going to work? Or is this something the owner has to do on his end?
I don’t think we have a Google workspace, so on the OAuth consent screen, I only have the option to select External. It sounds like that means anyone with a Google Account will be able to access the app I create to grab data. Can you elaborate what this means? Would I still be able to set it up so that only certain users can grab our data?
