YT Studio + API shows incorrect/much lower number of comments than the video on Youtube actually has

For the past week, the number of comments shown in YouTube Studio/API is significantly lower than the number of comments publicly visible under the video.

Expected behavior: The YouTube Studio/API comment count should match or exceed the public count (e.g., including held or filtered comments).

Actual behavior: The public comment count is higher than the count in YouTube Studio/API, even if a possible delay of 2-3 days is taken into account.

Could you please check and provide guidance on why this discrepancy is happening?
